Christian education, for children and teachers, is a growing response in Cambodia to the struggling education system. In response to this growing need and in a joint ministry with Asian Hope, Lynette is forming a team of teacher trainers and church planters with the goal to train and launch Christian educators into the public and private workforce equipped to impact this nation for God’s Kingdom.
For the past two years, Lynette has been working with 2 other Christian leaders to formulate culturally relevant training curriculum with a Biblical worldview. The program’s design is a form of apprenticeship or mentorship. Currently, there are 12 trainees in the program along with 17 non-formal teachers in a village development program. Also, 3 to 4 times per year, our group opens up relevant professional development training modules for schools all over Cambodia. This past October, we hosted about 65 teachers in a module on Classroom Management.
With the newly formed team of 6 people, we hope to spend the next 6-8 months researching needs, hosting additional training, and learning how to work together well. Please be in prayer for good team formation and discernment in our path ahead.
