October 1st 2012 I (James) stepped into the Asia Area Director role. As the Asia Area Director I provide vision, leadership and development to World Team’s ministry within the Asia Area. World Team Asia currently has over 70 members and we work in several countries but not limited to Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines and Taiwan. The work World Team Asia does varies from medical, education, university ministry, literacy, discipleship, and mentoring church leaders. Our workers serve in 15 different people groups and three major religious groups along with several animistic tribal settings.
My role allows me the privilege to travel to various countries, villages and tribes to see the awesome work our fellow laborers are involved in. During these visits I try to be an encouragement to our teams and the local believers as well as offering various training. Over the past two years Lynette and I have traveled to several different locations to offer CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS training. Also, from September 2013 – October 2014 we have trained 120 (western missionaries, Khmer, Filipinos, and Indonesians) believers in Discovery Bible Study methods. That was a lot of fun!
Each country we work is led by a Field Director. As Area Director one of my main responsibilities is to work alongside our Field Directors. A major part of my role is to provide accountability, development and support to the Field Directors as they lead the workers on the field. God has so blessed me with some great leaders.
I look with great expectation to the coming years for God to lead us into more innovative ministry that addresses the changing atmosphere of Asia.
